Hello Dear Ones

October, the Spookiest month has arrived and bringing with it chilly winds and rain.

In some ways this is a pivotal month with a powerful focus on transformation which is impossible to avoid.  As the temperatures start to drop and we watch the leaves flutter to the ground, we are reminded that natures cycles are mirrored in our lives. The only constant is change.  Autumn is a time for letting go of what no longer serves us, so we can make room and space for something new.

Why not go outside and gather some colourful autumn leaves, place them in a bowl as a symbol of what you would like to shed in your life and what you would like to seed deep within you for rebirth and renewal in the spring.

It is believed that the veil between the realms of the living and those who have passed on, is at its thinnest this month and spirit activity is more prevalent now than any other time of the year.  So, it is with this in mind that my thoughts turn towards celebrating my ancestors. Think Dia De Los Muertos. When we connect with our ancestors, we bring a sense of connection and belonging to our lives. We also begin to learn more about ourselves and have a greater appreciation for our families and lives (no matter the family situation). Our connection with our ancestors can bring in more self-love and greater compassion for ourselves and others.

Equally, Samhuin is also a wonderful time to cleanse your energy with light and the feeling of love. Try a salt bath or a cleansing meditation to keep your energy clear and connected.

It's been a helluva ride over the past year and a half.  There have been a lot of learnings that have filtered in, many of us have faced various challenges and may still be feeling a bit tender.  As we move deeper into the season of Autumn, feel into the seasons invitation to retreat in doors and turn your focus inwards and begin to nurture an inner discovery of who you are and what lights you up.

We are all on a journey of coming home to ourselves, remember that what you search for is within you!

Wishing you all a blessed Witchober and may you hear the whispers of your ancestors as they guide you on the next part of your journey!

October. I am excited about October. There is a lot happening for me this month, a few new experiences, people I have not seen in a while and a trip to Arran. You will hear more about this one later. But with all of this excitement I am also reminded that there are still problems in the world and there are a few of these close to me. I can’t solve any of these problems, but what I can do is hold space for the people involved and this is what I want to talk to you about this month. Have you ever read Fish? It is a business book, a story about the fish market in Seattle and someone at the market that developed a rapport with his clients, put on a show and the people flock there. For me that is holding space.

In circle, holding space is when we allow people to talk uninterrupted, allowing them just to be, tears and silences included. They get our full attention, no fiddling, looking away at something else, no checking phones or making a note. Nothing, just listening to the person speaking, looking at them. No trying to offer advice, no trying to console. Just letting them be. It is not easy to let someone cry, we want to make them feel better, but actually the best thing we can do is allow them to say and do what they want to do, they don’t get that opportunity anywhere else. There is always someone that knows how to solve the problem. Sometimes we don’t need that, we just want to speak. (please remember if someone says they need a cuddle then that is ok, cuddles help)

So, if we can do that in circle we can do that in our daily lives. So, my message to you this month is listen to people, listen to what they are saying and listen to what they are not saying, give them your full attention. I am not good at that, but that is my mission this month, just to listen and give people my full attention.

By the time you read this our first Goddess workshop will be behind us. We have a full course this time. We keep them small, but it will be nice to have 6 sisters explore these archetypes with us this autumn.

Enjoy the spooky season and remember to listen.

With lots of love

Following your intuition can lead you on some of the most intriguing adventures.

A couple of months ago I got the nudge to go to Arran.  I have never been before, and the nudge came out of no-where while sitting on the Ferry to Bute.  So, off we went.  At first it did not seem like the trip would happen… but when there is a will there is a way.

Little did I know at the time what an amazing adventure would unfold.  The weekend was infused the magic of circles, from driving around the island, to stone circles, completion cards and chatting to a lady who I swear I had met before (and she had no recollection of me what soever!) about Sister Circles and healing the land.

Our Arran adventure, included a beautiful circular walk along the South of the island and as we walked, we indulged in the abundance of ripe brambles, delighting in their tart yumminess. I also found myself enjoying the salty sea wind in my wild locks, which left me feeling refreshed and revitalised.

Everywhere we looked there were swans, even when we were stargazing into the endless twinkly night sky, we found the Cygnus constellation.   Swans represent transformation and are a symbol of light…. What an auspicious beacon of confirmation that I was right where I was supposed to be and that one part of my journey had ended, with the next about to begin.

My heart is pulling me back to Arran and I really feel that this is the location for our 'Re-ignite your Light' retreat next year.... so Belinda and I are off on our own adventure to Arran this month.  Looking forward to sharing our adventure with you.  If you haven’t signed up for our retreat yet, here is the link

My aim for the coming months is to learn to listen to my intuition more, to trust it, give it a voice and let it lead me to the right path.

We have just started our Goddess Workshops and what an absolute honour to be leading these workshops again with our magical Goddesses, I can’t wait to see how this journey unfolds.

I am also just about to finish up on my Reiki 1 manual and I can't wait to host my first training session!  I still have one more space left:  Reiki 1:  Are you ready to awaken the light within?

I have alot going on this month and whilst these activities seem to be outward facing, these activities are igniting my personal inner revolution!  Viva la revolucion!

Wishing you all a Spookily Good October!

Love and Blessings

The Owls Witchy Tip

There is so much to do on our altar this month. And if you don’t already have one, this is a great excuse to start one and then forget to get rid of it.

Mine will have seeds and seed heads of all types, obviously a candle or two, a small pumpkin, maybe some dried flowers. Samhain is also the time we remember our dead, so my altar will have reminders of them and perhaps a small offering to them.

Make it as simple or as elaborate as you wish.

The Wolfs Wild Tip

This dimension that we live in and the spirit world meet in October. This is the time when the veil that separates us is at its thinnest.

This is a time to honour our ancestors who have passed.  Light a candle and take some time to recall them into your heart and honour their memory and their place on your family tree.

Watch THE BOOK OF LIFE it’s a beautiful movie which encourages us to celebrate the past while looking forward to the future. It is a wonderful story about following your heart.

The Wild Woman Archetype – Wild and Untamed

iSpeech

Who is the Wild Woman and how we can embody her archetypal wisdom, even when we are past or not reached the physical aspect of her phase.

The Wild Woman is instinctual.  She is primal, passionate, sassy, magical, deeply connected to earth and intolerant to bullshit.

The Wild Woman is untamed and an awakening soul who will not rest until she uncovers the truth of who she is.  She is a healer and a medicine woman.

She senses and intuits and a spectrum of feels without censoring herself.

Women have been censored, subdued, suppressed and ultimately tamed for a millennium.

The Wild Woman is ‘wild’ because she needs to be.  She runs headfirst into the heart of every experience, and she needs her wildness to negotiate the world she lives in.

The Wild Woman is desperate to be seen and heard… she has her own unique gifts she longs to share with you.

She is asking us to stand still, reflect, accept, and alchemise our experiences, so we can begin to heal.

How do we embody the Spirit of the Wild Woman?

The Wild Woman Archetype or spirit is the energy that women embody during the pre-menstruation part of the cycle, when your body is preparing to shed the lining of the uterus.  This is when our oestrogen dips and progesterone begins’ to rise. We feel like slowing right down. We have less energy, and you may even feel reclusive, more sensitive and critical in the days before your period.

The Wild Woman symbolises wholeness and is associated with the autumn phase of our menstrual cycle, the autumn of the year and the waning crescent moon.

The Wild Woman spirit is wild, unpredictable, emotional and powerful and as we move into our inner Autumn, it’s natural to turn within, to take stock…

Igniting Your Wild Autumn Superpower: to detect bullshit & discard what no longer serves

For those not experiencing a menstrual cycle, you can tune into the Wild Woman energy during the waning moon when the world is starting to slow down and get darker.  You can tap into her wild spirit by taking time to journal and reflect on what is not working.  This is also a good time to prepare for the next phase as we start to make space for more of what we want.

Most of us love autumn as a season, the leaves start to turn and flutter to the ground and the world turns golden.  We find ourselves wrapping up a bit more warmly and finding more time to be cosey at home.

Autumn is also a time for letting go of what no longer serves us. A time to practice getting out of the way and allowing spirit to guide us.

So why not embrace your inner wild woman during your inner autumn and let her be your guide to slowing down, snuggling up and let her show you what inner leaves need to fall away.

This is the perfect time to shine a light on what has not been working during our spring and summer phases (which can be uncomfortable to process) and course correct.

So how do we coax out our Inner Wild Woman and nurture her emergence?

The Wild Woman stands firmly, rooted in her own power, reclaiming her freedom and stripping away what no longer serves.

We can bring our inner Wild Woman to life by...

  • Feeling all your feels, and valuing them—because each one has a lesson to teach us
  • Spend time in contemplation
  • Cut down on Stimulation and Unplug (less screen time, more stillness)
  • Explore your shadow, and bring them to the light
  • Nurture and nourish your body
  • Spending time in the wilds of nature
  • Strengthen your throat chakra

The idea is to nurture the emergence of your inner Wild Woman at the pre-menstrual stage and support the emergence of this wild archetype or during the waning Moon phases, honour and nurture your own needs.  The practice is about self-nurturing and creating the space for the wild woman to emerge and allow her healthy aspects to develop with the support of your body and emotions.

Many women dread the pre-menstrual part of their cycle as it can be physically painful, emotional, and often amplifies our shadow aspects.

The Wild Woman in you will emerge exactly how you need her to, because she is medicine for our soul and will shine a light on what no longer serves, so we can strip it away.

The Autumn phase of our menstrual cycle is about self-reflection and letting go of what we don’t need instead of putting out energy into the world, it is a time to explore our shadow, which parts that we hide and that need our attention

By heeding the call of the Wild Woman Archetype at this stage of our menstrual cycle and not resisting her need to slow down and start going inwards, we may be able to circumvent the dark and destructive behaviours that are deemed as irrational, by allowing her to be seen and heard.

It is when we battle against our inner Wild Woman that we cause ourselves pain.

She wants us to feel our pain and address the root cause, because this is the only way we can heal ourselves.

Maybe it is time to stop resisting her and listen.  She is a powerful force and has much to teach us.

The Feminine archetypes are portals to accessing our inner power, their imagery awakens within us energies and inspiration, that give us insight into our strengths and our shadow.

They are medicine for our human experience that transcends the limits of time and space.

The idea is to use archetypal wisdom as tool for stepping into the energy of the empowered feminine at any time! When you are in alignment with your feminine power this is when we gain access the most sacred experience of all... being a woman and embodying our full potential.

The invitation is to get to know yourself, make friends with yourself, and most importantly learn to trust yourself!

When we begin to align ourselves more closely with what we are called to do and be, working with our shifting cyclical energies is our superpower.

We all have our own inner goddess and working with a specific Goddess, gives our inner divine feminine extra va va voom. Take some time to explore the nurturing wisdom of the Wild Woman Goddesses below and see who comes forward to light your path ahead.

Wild Woman Goddess you can access for accessing your inner wild:

  • Artemis
  • Diana
  • Freya
  • Kali
  • Pele
  • Sekhmet
  • Oya

For me the wild woman spirit has depth, the more we nurture her wild presence, the deeper she will take you.

The Wild Woman, truly is where we start to unpick or unlearn behaviours that no longer serve our purpose, giving space for us to connect with our true essence, including connecting into our sacred sexuality.  The wild woman helps us to alchemise our rage and channel it in a productive way.  She teaches us to say no and honour our needs.

I'd love to hear who resonates with you.. leave your comments below.

Till next week, when I share with you the magic of the Crone Spirit.

May your inner goddess continue to rise within you and light your way ahead!

Fionn and Belinda work with the Goddess in all her forms as part of their own transformational work and feel called to offer Workshops and Cacao Ceremonies to support others with these powerful teaching tools, enabling us to create a more fulfilling and magical life.

The Goddess is rising within each of us.... may she light your path ahead.

Blessed Be.

Are you ready for a new chapter…?

Hello Dear Ones

Throughout August we have enjoyed the last of an intoxicating and heady summer in the UK.  Now we say goodbye to the wildness of summer days and welcome in the changing of the season as we descend into the darker months and open our arms to Autumn comforts of pumpkins and cinnamon!

Each month of the year has a lesson to teach us and an opportunity for reflection and growth.

September is a time of transition and change.  A time for self-reflection, gratitude and forgiveness.  September offers an opportunity to let go of the past year, to move forward and embrace the coming year, hopefully with some new learning and resolve.  It is important to manage these in-between times and change mindfully.

I have been sensing change on the horizon and feel ready to start a new chapter, however, the future is still unclear… after speaking to a couple of people this week, it seems they are feeling this same restlessness and need for something new.

So, when I received the Newsletter from the School of Shamanism earlier today, Lena’s forecast resonated.  She talks about the main theme for September being Time for a New Story and suggests the best approach to creating our new story is to ask questions that will open up our internal dialogue:

  • What do you fear?
  • What truly makes you happy?
  • What are the addictions you desire to change?
  • What part of your current story are you truly done with?
  • What are you not ready or willing to let go of?
  • What are you ready and willing to let go of?
  • What are your past unrealized dreams that are no longer viable?
  • What is your truth?

The first step in creating a new story is to let go of the old one without anger or judgment. The discomfort and irritation we feel in life, comes from resisting the responsibility of our own change. Only you can create a new story for yourself.

Let your heart lead the way... It will never lead you astray.

As the seasons change, so do we.  May we be aware we are shifting just like the wind.

Keep your vibration high this month, stay present, practice compassion and most of all cultivate appreciation for all of life in supporting your new story!

Who would have guessed, it is time for the newsletter again.

August has been a good month. I knew it would bring change; however, subtle and it did not disappoint. Those of you that follow us on social media will know that I have been on a spirit doll making course. I knew how to needle felt before I started, but the course has still taught me new techniques and given me the opportunity to practice my skills.

More importantly it allowed for time to reflect on various aspects of my spirituality and to dig a little deeper into some shadow work. One Tuesday morning at 1am, with a candle, a glass of water and a blanket drawn over my face I discovered, that while Inanna invites you to shed your treasures at each gate you pass, the Cailleach does not have time to ask, she just rips everything off and leaves you with what is important within minutes.

The lessons learnt during the Goddess Workshops also started making sense this month and has added to the transformative nature of the month. I am not only seeing a change in my personal life, but also a huge shift at work.

And the last thing I want to say about August is we finished the spellcrafting workshops. We had great fun. We spoke about a huge range of things from Hitler to sacred sex. If you were not there you have missed out.

It has been a gentle month, with all the messages coming through softly and at a constant pace. And I am happy to be alive.

With lots of love

August reminds me of savouring the last drops of a fine red wine.   Enjoying the last of the delicious warm days as we descend into the longer evenings.

August  felt quick in linear time and on an energetic level it felt expansive and long.  My month kicked off with attending Reiki Master Training as part of Teacher Training.  It was so good to be in sacred space with fellow sisters learning and growing together.  It was a powerful weekend, as Lionsgate and the Leo New Moon coincided with our training.  A beautiful and potent portal that activated heart healing and an expansion of spiritual wisdom to help us awaken to our truest potential, lead from the heart and birth a new world.

During the month, I welcomed back the Wild Woman and I continued my journey with Sekhmet.  It was an amazing check in to see how far I had come in letting go of past programming and to look ahead to the future and begin planning the next phase of my adventure, which includes writing more (and launch my podcast).

The past couple of weeks my fingers have been flying across the keyboard and I finally finished a piece I had started on the Little Mermaid.  My relfection is that that the Disney version of this story has entrapped women into believing that we need a hero to save us and to be dependent on the love of another.  Women have given up a lot of their innate magic to suit the patriarchal narrative, to fit a script that tells us we are not good enough, that we need to look a certain way and more specifically we need to take on attributes of the masculine to make it in this world.  We are all being called recognise our worth and we step into our wholeness by following our hearts and rejecting the perverted version of what society has told us we want….  I’d love to heart your thoughts.

Belinda and I are in the process of getting ready for our Goddess Archetype Workshops.  It’s been an absolutely joy to bring these workshops to life again this year and as we move towards the first workshop, keep an eye out for my video ands lives.

I am super excited to be off to Arran this weekend for a much needed break!

Have a beautiful September!  Stay present and appreciate the now!

Love and Blessings

The Owls Witchy Tip

With so much going on in the world at the moment I got good at emergency protection spells this month. A very simple white light visualisation where I cast a protective shield around the people/place I wanted to protect while making a little charm bag with basil and cumin to which I added tourmaline. I could not gift this bag physically, so I asked that they virtually accept the gift and place it at their front door for protection. I planted the charm bag at my front door together with some lettuce. The lettuce is growing wonderfully while the protection is working.

The Wolfs Wild Tip

Re-Wilding Tips for the month of September

Go fly a kite - Make use of the still light evenings and head to the park and fly a kite.

Blackberry picking - Head on out and pick blackberries and make something delicious with your foraged fruits.

Catch falling leaves – Get outdoors into the garden or visit the local park or woodland and catch the leaves as they fall from the trees. And for every leaf you catch make a wish.

Have a bonfire - Have a mini bonfire in the garden or sit outside around the wood burner, take out some hot chocolate and toast marshmallows in the flames.

Make autumn apple drinks - Simmer up a pan of warming, gently spiced apple drinks. Infuse the apple juice with citrus peel and cinnamon.

Make toffee apples - Nothing says autumn quite like deliciously red toffee apples.

Get outdoors for a walk – Get out and about an autumn nature trail, look out for conkers, acorns, beech nuts, pinecones, beautiful autumn-coloured leaves and autumn wildlife. Maybe take a picnic or flasks of hot chocolate and some brownies.

Climb a hill and watch the sunset – It just feels so good to do this and best of all, it’s free!

Star gazing - If you’ve got a telescope then get out into the garden and spend time looking at the stars or catching a glimpse of a planet.

This card encourages an enthusiastic approach to change.  Transformation is coming, whether you like it or not.  Seems like an apt card for tthe month of September.

You are being called to rise….

Text to Speech Demo

Recently Rhapsody Bohème shared some beautiful words written by L'erin Alta. I felt inspired to share these words with our readers. Now is the time dear ones!

You are being called to rise...

If you ever felt called to be a healer, a teacher, a salve for the people, now is your time to come forward.

If you are a word weaver or a light worker or a lender of ears, now is your time to come forward.

If you have been hiding medicine on your pockets, behind your eyes, beneath your tongue, waiting for the "right" time to share it, now is your time to come forward.

If you have been waiting for approval, for validation, for vindication before sharing your most precious gifts, now is the time to come forward.

If you are waiting for the perfect time, the perfect mentor, the perfect plan, now is your time to come forward.

If you can bring laughter, comfort and warmth to the most solemn spaces, now is your time to come forward.

If you have ever been called to use your life for something greater than yourself, now is your time to come forward.

Yes, might be terrified.

Yes, you might be unpopular.

Yes, you might disrupt the social norm.

But the world needs you. NOW. Come forward. Imperfect. Broken. Uncertain. Raw. Willing. Open.

Lend your gifts to the greater good. Help make the world a better place so we might all be free.

The Mother Archetype – Sacred Caretaker

iSpeech.org

Who is the Mother and how can you embody her archetypal wisdom, even when you are past the physical aspect of her phase....?

The mother simply glows.  She is sensual, abundant, and bursting with fertility.

She is deeply connected to the earth, and all of life.

She represents creativity, birth and the cycle of growth.  When we allow the Mother Goddess to emerge, we feel inspired to spend time nurturing our body, mind, and spirit as a priority.  When we take care of ourselves, this is a micro-expression of caring for Mother Earth.  It is only when we nurture ourselves that we can truly begin to make positive and far-reaching changes.

When we tap into her cosmic personality, we see that her strength lies in her nurturing presence and not control.  She encompasses inner strength, wisdom, artfulness, and sacred caretaking.  She allows what she has created to bloom in its own divine time.  This is what creation is really about; co-creating something with the divine, that is one day able to sustain itself without our presence.

How do we embody the Mother Archetype?

The Mother archetype is the energy that women embody during the ovulatory Phase of the menstrual cycle - this is where we find a glowier version of ourselves and we feel like Superwoman and can handle multiple aspects of life at one time.

The Mother symbolises abundance and is associated with the summer phase of our menstrual cycle, the Summertime of the year and the Full Moon

This is when we say YES to just about everything!  We have heaps of energy, we feel like socialising and multitasking.

As we move into our inner Summer phase, we are ready to shine shine shine!  A time when you are looking and feeling your best, so why no flaunt it!

Your shiny Summer Superpower: to enjoy the ride and look your best while doing it!

The idea is to use archetypal wisdom as tool for stepping into the energy of the empowered feminine at any time! When you are in alignment with your feminine power this is when we gain access the most sacred experience of a

The Mother stands firmly, rooted in her own power to sustain what she has created allowing it bloom in its own right.  We can bring our inner Mother to life by...

  • Making more time for ourselves and our desires
  • Spending more time in nature and replenish our energies
  • Exploring our creativity
  • Deciding what we need to prioritise in our life, and simplify things
  • Clear out any distractions, so we create space for more of what we really want
  • Chart your menstrual cycle (so you can feel more in tune with Mother Earth)
  • Weave more ritual practice into our life by celebrating the new and full moon, the sabbaths.
  • Involve yourself in community activities.

The idea is to nurture the emergence of your inner Mother at the ovulation stage and allow her healthy aspects to develop with the support of your body and emotions.   When we harness and maximise the mothers’ positive aspects, the easier it becomes to embody her archetypal energy during this part of our cycle and the simpler it becomes to propel ourselves forward in life.

At another stage in our cycle, this same outward high vibing, nurturing energy would feel like a huge effort, because your whole being (including the natural cycles of nature) will be urging you to slow down.

The Feminine archetypes are portals to accessing our inner power, their imagery awakens within us energies and inspiration, that give us insight into our strengths and weaknesses.

We all have our own inner goddess and working with a specific Goddess, gives our inner divine feminine extra va va voom. Take some time to explore the nurturing wisdom of the Mother Goddesses below and see who comes forward to light your path ahead.

Mother Goddesses you can access for nurturing wisdom:

  • Gaia
  • Lakshmi
  • Demeter
  • Parvati
  • Hera
  • Yemaya
  • Isis
  • Mother Mary

The Mother is considered by many Wiccans to be the most powerful of the Triple Goddess.

For me the mother goddess is possibly the most dynamic of all the archetypes - she is the cornerstone to the past, present and the future.  The healing we do in the present not only releases us from any baggage our lineage carries, but our future generations as well.

I'd love to hear who resonates with you.. leave your comments below.

Till next week, when I share with you the magic of the Wild Woman.

Blessed Be.

The Maiden Archetype – Embracing Individuality

iSpeech

Who is the Maiden and how can you embody her archetypal wisdom, even when you are past the physical aspect of her phase....?

The Maiden represents new beginnings.  She is young at heart, full of optimism and energy.  She is self-reliant and embodies independence, strength and confidence. She teaches us to stand up for ourselves and pursue what we believe in.

There is a sense of playfulness and curiosity about her as she explores her world.

The Maiden is that precious part within each one of us that is our innocence, purity, and raw energy.

How do we embody the Maiden?

The Maiden archetype is the energy that women embody during the pre-ovulation phase of the menstrual cycle - this is when we have an extra spring in our step.

The Maiden symbolises rebirth and is associated with the spring phase of our menstrual cycle, the springtime of the year and the crescent-to-waxing phase of the Moon.

As we move into our personal spring phase, we are ready slowly re-enter the world to start planning and organizing the month ahead. It’s during this phase we start to feel more energetic, motivated, full of optimism and ideas as our oestrogen starts to rise.  When embodied, this archetype appears to easily juggle a whole stack of interesting projects and activities.

We can imagine the fresh, rising energy of an emerging young woman, full of enthusiasm and authenticity…. Take a moment to imagine this vibrant energy and breath it in, allowing it to stir your senses.

Your Spring Superpower: to bedazzle everyone with your magnetic appeal!

Now is the perfect time to get curious and to think big: what can you change in your life for the better and plan how you can make it happen.

So how do we coax out our Inner Maiden and nurture her emergence?

The Maiden stands firmly, rooted in her own power and will bedazzle everyone with her magnetic appeal, attracting opportunities and people with ease. We can bring our inner maiden to life by...

  • Being assertive (asking for what you want)
  • Making plans and being social
  • Making conscious choices – surrounding ourselves with inspiring messages, people & vibrations
  • Taking time to discover our unique gifts
  • Celebrating the success of others
  • Dressing up! Adorning and anointing ourselves (Dressing in ways that make you like your truest and most beautiful self)
  • Being flexible and adaptable.
  • Taking time to unwind.
  • Strengthening your Solar Plexus, the seat of your personal power and self esteem through mediation.

The idea is to nurture the emergence of your inner Maiden at the pre-ovulation stage and allow her healthy aspects to develop with the support of your body and emotions.   When we harnes and maximise the maidens’ positive aspects, the easier it becomes to embody her archetypal energy during this part of our cycle and the simpler it becomes to propel ourself forward in life.

At another stage in our cycle, this same vibrant, creative, assertive energy would feel like an huge effort, because your whole being (including the natural cycles of nature) will be urging you to slow down.

The Feminine archetypes are portals to accessing our inner power, their imagery awakens within us energies and inspiration, that give us insight into our strengths and weaknesses. Archetypes are medicine for our human experience that transcends the limits of time and space.

The invitation is to get to know yourself, make friends with yourself, and most importantly learn to trust yourself!

Archetypes are timeless and it doesn’t matter how old you are you can embody the maiden at any stage of your life!

The idea is to use archetypal wisdom as tool for stepping into the energy of the empowered feminine at any time! When you are in alignment with your feminine power this is when we gain access the most sacred experience of all... being a woman and embodying our full potential.

We all have our own inner goddess and working with a specific Goddess, gives our inner divine feminine extra va va voom. Take some time to explore the energy of the Maiden Goddesses below and see who comes forward to light your path ahead.

  • Athena
  • Artemis
  • Persephone
  • Inanna
  • Brigid
  • Kuan Yin
  • Rhiannon

I'd love to hear who resonates with you.. leave your comments below!

Till next week, when I share with you the magic of the Mother.

May your inner goddess continue to rise within you and light your way ahead!

The Wolf Speaks – Deep Diving with The Little Mermaid

iSpeech

One of the things I love, is stories (and books of course, I seem to collect them to read later!)

Stories are powerful tools, where we can learn life lessons, morals, and values.

Every great story since the beginning of time includes archetypes and we can identify with these archetypes on a collective level.  It’s through the archetypes in stories that we can begin to sculpt an understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

I recently bought Beneath the Moon: Fairy Tales, Myths, and Divine Stories from Around the world, which has been written and beautifully illustrated by Yoshi Yoshitani.

Out of the stories I have read so far, the Little Mermaid, a Danish Fairy Tale originally written by Hans Christian Anderson and published in 1837, caught my attention.

We all know the Disney version of this story; Ariel is a mermaid who dreams of living on land.  She rescues a prince from drowning and falls madly in love with him.  She takes a gamble, and strikes a bargain, with Ursula, the evil sea witch.  Fully aware of the risks, she trades in her beautiful voice for legs, so she can be part of the human world and win the love of the prince she rescued.  In the Disney story, love wins the day and they both live happily ever after.

The original story has no happy ending, and your heart breaks for the mermaid who agreed to pay the price the wicked witch of the sea demands, for love, unrequited.

The Little Mermaid is unable to win the love of the prince, watches him marry another and the Little Mermaid dies and is turned to sea foam.  Apparently, Hans Christian Anderson revised the ending to a more hopeful conclusion, where the Little Mermaid becomes a daughter of air and earns a soul, something she wanted all along.

I was a little sad at the ending and I began to think about what the moral of the story was, what are the lessons and what was the story reflecting back at me.

The timing of reading this story, was rather curious.  The book arrived on International Women’s Day, which was the day after our first Goddess Archetype Workshop and before our deep dive into the maiden archetype.

I felt like there was not only some personal introspection required, but a collective message here to investigate.

Disney Movies (of the past) have adjusted the true value of stories, by appealing to our sense of romance, adventure, and the fight against good and evil.  In the retelling of these stories, the truth and depth has been compromised.  The morals, values and lessons have been re-written to disempower the feminine (and the masculine).  The Little Mermaid was determined to ‘change’ herself and give up everything for the love of a man she hardly knew, even knowing the risks.

This retelling has entrapped women into believing that we need a hero to save us and to be dependent on the love of another.  On the flipside the powerless female character is what the masculine is taught to desire.

The true meaning of the Little Mermaid has been covered up and denies us the moral of the story and encourages women to change ourselves to suit the mainstream narrative and to give in and lose our voice.  In the movie, girls are encouraged to change themselves, even ‘silence’ themselves in the name of love.

Women are not damsels in distress. We are not powerless, and we do not need saving.  We can save ourselves, by appreciating and loving ourselves first.

Women have given up a lot of their innate magic to suit the patriarchal narrative.  To fit a script that tells us we are not good enough, that we need to look a certain way and more specifically we need to take on attributes of the masculine to make it in this world.

Women have had their voices silenced , their unique feminine magic overidden and changed themselves to fit into the patriachal paradigm.

We step into our wholeness by following our hearts and what we truly want and rejecting the perverted version of what society has told us we want…

We often allow ourselves to get into situations where we lose our voices and our authenticity.

For me the moral of the story is when we give up so much of ourselves, in order to fit in, we curtail our freedom and give up our authenticity and override our innate feminine magic.

We need to think hard about how much of our personal and collective value we have given away, including our voices to fit in?

Where have we give up our magical depths and our feminine ebb and flow… for something that has taken our true magic from us?

I went on to read many different opinions and theories on the original story, some offered hope from a more spiritual perspective, others felt it articulated the harsh consequences stemming from impulsive actions of the mermaid.  Some even argued that in the end, her good deeds gave her what she wanted, eternal life.

Another thought was that the more bittersweet the ending, the more realistic it is.  We cannot make people love us and we need to learn to live with that fact.  The best we can do is act gracefully towards them.

My belief is, that stories reflect back to us what we need to know or consider, and my interpretation will be different to anyone else’s, based on my own personal narrative.

In the Tarot of the Divine by Yoshi Yoshitani, the little Mermaid represents the Fool, who is carefree and excited about life regardless of the warnings.  You see the mermaid depicted in the card, sitting on a rock looking up a castle on a high mountain top - a castle in the sky.

For me the moral of the story is a warning.  A warning to not to give up parts of ourselves for the sake of another (or the mainstream patriarchal narrative).  To slow down and think before we rush in and to not create dreams, hopes, or plans that are impossible or unrealistic.

The Little Mermaid represents the Maiden Archetype.  This Archetype displays a youthful effervescence and determination.  She has a sense of curiosity, which she uses to explore the world around her.  She is creative and has an instinctive approach to the world; however, lacks experience.  The world is your oyster when you are a maiden.

The shadow aspect of the maiden is self-centred.  All her energy is expended on achieving her own personal needs and goals.  She struggles to realize her full potential and she tends to be fearful and co-dependent.  She does not consider the consequences and trusts it will all work out.

If I reflect on my own personal story.  I identify with the shadow aspect of the Maiden.  Having grown up in a restrictive religion (you can read about my story here) then desperately trying to escape, I started to look for love in the wrong places, looking for a hero to save me.  I became co-dependant, lacked boundaries and sought validation in all the wrong places.  Determined to live my life on my own terms, I ignored all the warning signs, even my intuitive ones.

Where have you given up your voice to keep the peace and fit in?  Where have you knowingly given up your deepest feminine attributes to fit into patriarchal society?

I’m sure there are many other threads to unpick in this very profound fairy tale…

What personal connection do you have to the story? What part resonates with you the most?

I’d love to hear your thoughts…

Summertime is for healing…

iSpeech.org

Hello Dear Ones

July has arrived with stormy weather here in Scotland. June felt a bit heavy with retrogrades and eclipses, so the rainy weather feels refreshing and rejuvenating.

July supports the energy of victory and expanding our personal horizons, think Julius Caesar and his triumphant statement Veni Vidi Vici!

I was reading the July Forecast from the School of Shamanism and Lena says that the main theme for July is “Two Steps Forward, One Step Back”. A Chameleon immediately came to mind and their message is ‘Watch and Wait’, the highway of life has more than just green lights.

So, whilst the energy of the month is vibrant, and we are amped to get going, we may feel like we are being reigned in. Just remember, this is exactly where we need to be right now because with every push forward, there is a need to look back and this may be necessary, for emotional clearing or a completion of a cycle… whatever the reason for looking back, remember this is necessary to ensure that our move forward is truly aligned with what we want.
Whilst out and about celebrating the radiant warmth of summer…. continue working on your goals, your personal growth and you will find yourself a victor!

Warm Summer love!

PS: We are running a Tarot / Oracle Reading Giveaway on Instagram, don’t forget to enter! You stand a chance of winning one of Fionn’s Shamanic Card Readings. The competition closes on Monday, 13 July 2021.

You have been following Fionn’s blog about her journey with Mama Cacao during June. I was on a journey with her as well, but a very different one. Those of you that have sat in ceremony with us will know that I am not a great fan of the taste. I like what it stands for, I like the experience I get from it, but I dislike the taste. It is hard work drinking it. But I tried it, the first week it went well and I thought I can do this. And then life happened and I only occasionally took it. This experience does not mean that the last month has not been transformational, because it has. For a variety of reasons.

We finished the Goddess workshop a little while ago, but during the last month, we did some constellation work using the four archetypes we worked with. It was a powerful experience. There were some surprises for me, but deep down I knew how these four archetypes were out of alignment, who was feeling repressed, who was dominant and who had barged in to try and keep things calm. I had a coaching session at work this week and we talked about this work in relation to my work. I have a lot to work on. So now I am trying to let the mother rest and allowing the wild woman and the maiden a little playtime. The crone is there, but just keeping an eye on proceedings. That is easier said than done. This morning during a meditation I was reminded to look at my heart box and remember what was important to me. Have a look at my witchy tip below for more details on a heart box.
Anyway, I have been expecting change for a long time now and I think it has started.

And my final word: those that have signed up for the magical life workshop are in for a treat. Not only do we have an exciting 5 weeks lined up, but I love the witches starter kit I have put together.

Check out the unboxing of the Magical Life Workshop box here!

Have a lovely July.

With lots of love

June felt epically long! I loved the time expansion, it felt like the world slowed down, allowing for much-needed downtime! As I mentioned last month, I took the month off to recalibrate my inner world and follow my intuition and aim my arrow in the direction of my heart’s desires!

I kicked off June by stepping further onto my path as a Reiki Teacher, which has thus far brought some fascinating ideas on how to weave my passion for archetypes and cacao into my practice.

The day dawned gorgeous and sunny, and I was excited to take my next steps on this path. Throughout the afternoon there were lots of messages from spirit and my guides, affirming I am on track.

First up was a beautiful reflexology session infused with Reiki. It was during reflexology I was guided into a mediation, and I found myself on a yellow brick road… Yup, much like the yellow brick road Dorothy was on in The Wizard of OZ, except I didn’t have red Dorothy shoes, my feet were bare! Also, I didn’t have the Tin Man, Lion or Scare Crow… I had my heart and my Animal Guides… and it felt like I was heading off on an adventure of the heart.

Afterwards, we headed into the garden to embark on Reiki Teacher training, and we discussed my vision for teaching and for my practice.  After receiving my attunement another affirmation that I am on an adventure of the heart, came through.

I am super excited about how this is all unfolding!

Simultaneously, I felt called to attune myself more deeply to the Master Plant Medicine Cacao as part of a 21-day challenge. Each day I created a sacred pause to sit in ritual to be fully present with myself and deepen my relationship with Cacao. Cacao helps us to listen and to feel, she encourages us to reflect on our life and where we can open our heart to our calling.

I have loved connecting with her over the last month and diving deep into her history, the challenge has grounded me, slowed me down and brought me back to my heart centre.

If you haven’t read about my journey thus far… check out our blog.

I am thinking about running a 21-day Cacao Challenge later this year, please do let me know if you are interested, it has truly been an expansive journey and I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Last month we closed off our Goddess Workshops with constellation work, recalibrating the Maiden, the Mother, the Wild Woman and Crone within us… It was the perfect way to end off our workshops, giving those who attended amazing insight on which archetypes need more nurturing from us. We have opened registration for the Goddess Archetype Workshops… do let us know if you would like to join!

Sending you all so much love and happy summer vibes 💗

The Owls Witchy Tip

Make a little keepsake box out of any sturdy box. Mine is a beautiful jewellery box that my Goddess necklace came in. In it, I have little things that make my heart sing. Some of it is a little something I have picked up because it is pretty and some of it represents the things I love most in life.

Try making one for yourself, open it when you are down or you doubt yourself and you will be reminded of what makes you happy and those things that should play a bigger part in your life.

The Wolfs Wild Tip

Focus on your Heart.

We are so busy hustling and trying to keep our lives afloat, we waste so much energy getting stuck in our heads trying to figure life out.

Instead, drop into your heart and allow yourself to fully feel what's going on inside of you.

Talk to it, listen to it, thank it, ask it to share its wisdom with you.

Summertime is a good time to heal and let go of any emotional wounds from the past, giving us the space to open up our hearts to what's present for you now and what it's guiding you towards in the future.

Hello, Dear ones!

It's June, a potent month that radiates with sunshine and happy hearts!  This month we have the celebration of Litha, the Summer Solstice, which sets us alight with vibrant summer energy.  The sun is shining bright, love is in the air, and the world is pregnant with pleasure and indulgence.

Litha marks the longest day of the year, it's a celebration of light reaching its peak, which is a powerful reminder of the light within each of us and our individual and collective potential.

Summer is also all about fire, a time to celebrate your own Inner Fire. That badass part of yourself that is tough and strong and awesome. Pause for a moment and acknowledge this fire inside yourself and tell yourself how awesome you are!

<3

Cross the border and turn right. That was the instructions we got a few years ago when we drove from Durban to Porto in Mozambique. And they were right. There was no fixed road, just multiple sorts of roads and they all led to paradise.

Time. Time is not linear the way we understand it. We understand time as linear to make it easier for ourselves. Einstein said time is useful as it prevents everything from happening at once. But time really moves in all directions, zigzag, spirals, curves, circles.

And this is why divination and magic work. We have multiple paths ahead of us, divination and magic allows us to choose one of these over another and as a result, the path is different, but it still takes us to what we understand to be our future. We can use divination to choose where we want to go and magic to aid us on that journey, but in the end, it is up to us.

If you have been in spell circle with us before you will know that I always say that there is no point in doing spells if you are not going to follow them up with action. Spells are only the support act, your action is the main event and the magic of spells only makes it easier.

This week I realised that I don’t always follow that advice. I did a spell recently, it is sitting on my altar while it works and allows my intention to come to fruition: however, my life has not really changed. No wonder these spells only sort of work, the Universe is getting mixed messages from me and has no idea what I really want.

So that is my intention for this month: change what I do as well.

Hope you have a lovely June. I hope the sun shines where you are. And I hope you will join us for The Magic and The Mundane workshop announced in this newsletter.

Have a lovely June

Belinda

May felt like a bit of a whirlwind, I think I may have missed it and it's June already.

Instinctively I have been gearing myself up for June, it had been feeling like a month of change. A recalibration of my inner world, the kind of inner world change that creates a deeper, richer and more rooted version of myself.

It wasn’t until I listened to a podcast by Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul, that I wasn’t the only one feeling this way and that indeed the astrology is inviting us to reprioritise and recalibrate all aspects of our lives. Lindsay says in her podcast, that this is a crucially important time of revealing, excavating and unearthing so that we can all radically choose ourselves.  Link to Lindsay Macks Monthly Medicine.

This willingness to choose ourselves will have a massive effect on ourselves for years to come. We are not cookie-cutter versions of someone else…. So say yes to yourself and do you, whether people get it or not!

If there is one thing to do this month, tune into your intuition and let it take where it will… your intuition will always guide you home!

It’s definitely time for me to follow my intuition and aim my arrow in the direction of my heart’s desires!

There are no circles this month, as Belinda and I are taking the month off. I will be following my intuition, wherever it will take me and Belinda is working on our new and revamped version of the Magical Life Workshop… hope to see you there!

Sending you all so much love

Fionn

The Owls Witchy Tip

The light at the moment is great in the evenings. I go out around 9 PM just to be in the garden, listen to the birds, watch the light as it starts to fade. Just to be grateful for whatever the day brought and that I can enjoy these few minutes of call and beauty.

If you have a garden or a park nearby, join me at 9 PM to enjoy life.

The Wolfs Wild Tip

Early mornings are so peaceful and this is a time we often access our wisdom and receive important downloads since we are not distracted by the commitments of the day ahead.  A wonderful time to connect with yourself and nature by notice the activity of the birds and other creatures.

If you fancy rising and shining with me... I'll be out and about at 6 AM, soaking up the early morning vibes.

Hello Dear Ones

May has arrived and here in the Northern Hemisphere, we have just celebrated Beltane, a Celtic festival celebrating the midpoint of Spring!

Beltane brings in the feeling of vitality. The days are longer and the sunshine warms us and the land. This is the season that ignites our feelings of joy, passion, spontaneity, enthusiasm and fun… and to celebrate all the pleasures of being alive.

Take a moment to feel into this vibrant energy.  Breath it in and ask yourself what is currently lighting your spirit up?  What is bringing you joy in this very moment?

I don’t know about you, but I am still working from home. Still trying to keep Henri, the dog, quiet while I am in an important meeting. Still having days on end where I only leave the house to take Henri for a walk.

In the last few days, it has been the full moon in Scorpio, Pluto Retrograde has started and we are heading towards the end of our Goddess workshops which means shadow work.

I know summer is here, but it does feel like shadow work is calling me. I feel a heaviness in my heart and a real need to move on. I am feeling the Crone energy coming through strongly.

Last month I mentioned to you that I have started felting again as a meditative process, but of course, it is also tapping into my creativity. Beltane is a time of fertility, creativity and just having fun. You will be reading this after the 1st of May has been, but the Beltane energy remains with us for some time after the date has passed. Use this time to have fun, be creative (even if you think you are not a creative person) and start thinking about what you would like to manifest in this season of sunshine.

As I write it is pouring with rain... no warm spring vibes today, but listening to the rain has brought a sense of calm and serenity to what has felt like a non-stop weekend of doing!

April brought in some fast-paced vibrant energy, which is overflowing into May in chariot loads, and what lies ahead feels like an endless list of to-dos, as the seeds I planted earlier this year start to emerge.

Learning to surrender to what is and to take time to slow down to enjoy the moment or even indulging in an afternoon nap is key to getting things done.  Powering through is not always beneficial to getting things done and honouring our personal flow can help increase our productivity.  We are human beings... not human doings!

Now that May has firmly kicked off and we are free to roam the countryside (here in the UK) and get back to... what was it we did before lock-down again? 😉 It's such a good feeling to be able to hit the road and explore.

I am working on a project with a fellow witchy sister, to bring to life the stories of those who were put to death under the Witchcraft Act in the 16th and 17th century, in a series of images.  Our adventures will take us all over Scotland, as we visit the sights of where the trials took place to uncover and feel into the stories that need to be told.  Our intention and deepest desire is to recode the word witch, honour those who were tragically put to death and bring healing to the collective witch wound.

May is turning out to be a very exciting month indeed, as this month I also embark on Reiki Teacher Training and I am looking forward to working with a wonderful teacher who will bring so much expansion to my already eclectic training.  I look forward to this expansive journey and expanding my offering to bringing you reiki training in the near future.

Finally, there is the launch of our exciting new offering below...!   Wishing you the joyous vibes of the season!

Sending you all so much love

Exciting News

When we started The Owl and The Wolf, our ideas were endless (and there are new ones popping up all the time).  We are now excited to announce the launch of our new offering!

Witchy Spell Boxes We have just celebrated Beltane, which means Litha is next. Litha is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. The sun is at its highest point and although it is the longest day, from there onwards, the days get shorter; however, the best of summer is still ahead of us. It is a time of bounty, a time to rejoice.

We have created the first of our Mystery Witchy Spell Boxes, that will not only delight your Inner Witch but help you celebrate this Sabbath through spell work and divination.   Fionn and I are really excited about this, as we love putting your boxes together for the workshops we do.  There will be a limited number of mystery boxes as we want to make sure that it is of high quality and something you will love too!

As always details will be available on our website, but subscribers will have early bird access.

Litha Spell Box The Litha Spell Box will contain everything you need to celebrate Litha, in the most witchiest and magical way!   If your Inner Witch is giving you a hell yeah, I want in on this... click here

Introductory Exchange:  £15 plus P&P £2  (only available in the UK)   There are only 10 boxes available for Litha and they will go live on our social media account on 21 May, so make sure you get yours before they magically disappear!

As a subscriber to The Owl and The Wolf, you will be the first to know about the release of events and any other magical offerings.

The Owls Witchy Tip

A simple creative activity is to take stones or shells or flowers or even just dropped pine cones and then using these to make a spiral. This process connects you to nature, releases those creative juices and hopefully inspires you to try something else.

The Wolfs Wild Tip

It is said that Beltane is much like Samhain and the portal to other realms are at their thinnest and in particular to the realm of the nature spirits  (spirits of flowers and trees, of waterfalls and woods. This includes the realm of the fairies, dryads, elves) Which makes May a great time to connect with the nature spirits.

Go for a walk in a park or wooded area and imagine all the trees, plants and animals are inhabited with spirits, kind and natural. Connect into their presence. Feel what it might like to be them. Like the old majestic, patient and wise tree. Or the flighty, almost nervous, small bird.
