21 Day Cacao Challenge – Going with the Flow (Day 19)

Text to Speech Demo

It’s sad to say that I am nearing the end of this expansive journey with Cacao; however, it does not mean that the journey ends.  The journey never ends, the adventure of growth and following my heart continues.

What does it mean to go with the flow…?

Going with the flow is not a passive response to what is happening around us.  When we go with the flow it means that we act from a space of authenticity and that we honour our own personal rhythms as well as the rhythm of the natural world.

I like how Rebekah describes this in her email:  An apple tree doesn’t cry in December because it can’t produce fruit, it automatically trusts nature and waits patiently for the right time.

Instead of push, push, pushing, we instinctively know when it’s time to slow down and have patience.

When we want something to happen in a specific way, by a certain time, we can find ourselves disappointed by these kinds of expectations are not met.  Life then becomes difficult resulting in stress and anxiety

I also think there is a bit of confusion about what going with the flow means, so for me there is:

Going with the flow and there is ‘Going with the FLOW’

When we go with the flow, we tend to make decisions to keep life comfortable and avoid conflict, by not rocking the boat.  This is often associated with conflict avoidance.

We may not be consciously aware that we are outwardly focussed on other people’s needs and expectations, or that we have lost touch with our own needs.  Which really means that we are probably flowing in someone else’s river or a few different rivers and allowing other people’s agendas to dictate our flow.

When we go with the flow, this really means we are not taking responsibility for our own lives or getting clear on what we want or need.  We are bystanders, because we have bought into the idea that we are meant to go with the flow.

Growing up in a Cult Organisation, I spent the better part of half my life dancing to someone else’s tune.  Like a little puppet dancing to everyone else’s expectation of me, resulting in people pleasing behaviours and supressed anger, the discord with in me was immense.  When I discovered a beat that resonated with my heart and started to dance to my own tune, it was so addictive, I wanted more.   This is when I hit the rapids of family upset and discontent.  It didn’t stop me following the call of my heart…

When you dance to the rhythm of your own beat…. Magic happens!

You read more about my story here

When we Go with the FLOW, we surrender to the ebb and flow of not only our personal cycles, but that of nature and we synchronise with the natural intelligence and FLOW of the universe.

We set our intentions and let life guide us to where we want to go. Going with the FLOW helps us to become intimately aware of who we are at our very core, enabling us to listen to our soul messages and honour what we hear.

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”

Lao Tzu

#incacaowetrust

Today's Ritual… This 21-day ritual challenge started in the knowledge that it takes 21 days to break a habit.  During this time, I have forged a deep and profound relationship with Cacao and let go of what no longer serves and a deeper habit of Going with the FLOW has formed.

The more that I lean into Going with the FLOW and trusting that the universe has my back and that everything happens in divine timing, brings me a feeling of contentment.

When we begin to trust that life is unfolding as it should, we can relax and start to see miracles begin to happen.

As part of your daily spiritual practice begin asking: What is my heart’s desire? What inspired action arising from my soul am I meant to take today?

Share a comment below… I would love to hear from you!

Daily Intention:

To GO with the FLOW.

What am I Grateful for today?

The gift of life.

One thing today that made me feel ‘I Love my life’:

Being able to support people with deeper healing.

How did I follow my intuition today (with what results?)

By responding to an immediate thought, and the person very much needing what I had message them.

What Physical Changes are taking place?

I am feeling strong.

Daily check in questions:

What difference did this Challenge Make to my day?

I feel like I am blooming.

How is this challenge helping me achieve my goals?

With my newfound confidence I have been feeling of late, I am feeling more inclined to share my voice and have been creating recorded content as well as going live on socials.

How is this challenge impacting my relationships with nature, myself and other relationships?

I also hear myself speaking about my passions with more confidence.  I can feel my own change of vibration, which has had a profound effect on me in the knowledge that I am an intrinsic part of the Universe.

21 Day Cacao Challenge – Partipation (Day 18)

iSpeech

Rebekah designed this challenge so that we could work with the Cacao spirit to push us out of our comfort zones and set sale towards our dreams.

Many of us seem to mosey on through life, believing our truest desires are just distant dreams.

We tend to endure the Work, Eat, Sleep repeat, routine and find ourselves walking around functioning from our neck up and not participating in what life has to offer.

Showing up for your life means actively participating in our own life rather than hiding and going through the motions.

When we show up and start participating in life, we begin to feel inspired to take action to bring our dreams to life.

Once we align with our true purpose, we begin to feel a profound sense of peace.  When we aligned without purpose, it gives us an opportunity to appreciate the choices, challenges and even the hardships we have experienced, because this is what shaped you into who you are today.

Living in alignment with our purpose means that we are vibrating at a frequency that matches that of your soul's intention and the universe reflects that right back at us, amplifying our manifestation powers!

What we think, and what comes back at us, is always a vibrational match.

When we are living in alignment with our purpose and we have a clear vision of what we want to create, life seems to just flow, and things fall into place.

You feel free to be you and your authentic simply shines!

"Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you."

Marianne Williamson

Today's Ritual, is to write down everything I am fearful of and to be honest about those fears that stopping me from living my dreams.  Then we close our journals and take some deep breaths and tune into the spirit of Cacao for guidance and support and ask her if our fears are rational and write down our any guidance received in our journals

FEAR = False Expectations Appearing Real

Let’s not let our fears get in the way of living our dream.  Rebekah encourages us to use the powerful medicine of Cacao to challenge and push us beyond fear.

Life is meant to be lived NOW.

All we need to do is participate in the adventure.

What are you waiting for!

Daily Intention:

To go with the FLOW.

What am I Grateful for today?

My resilience – how quickly I bounce back these days.

One thing today that made me feel ‘I Love my life’:

Being able to look back on the past year, two years, even the past decade and see my personal expansion and growth – I am excited to see what the next year brings.

How did I follow my intuition today (with what results?)

Learning to quiet the mind and the inner dialogue can be hard, but when we let go, slow down and follow our intuition – that’s where the magic is.  Having your head full of stuff, can cause a disturbance in the force… so I listened and took a nap!

What Physical Changes are taking place?

My physical and mental stamina is growing daily.

Daily check in questions:

What difference did this Challenge Make to my day?

I feel more and more resilient, and I feel myself detaching more and more for the external dramas.

How is this challenge helping me achieve my goals?

The more I give myself space to connect with myself, my intentions, and goals… the more I am attracting the right people into my life, to move my goals and passions forward.  I am glowing.

How is this challenge impacting my relationships with nature, myself, and other relationships?

Still slowing down and learning to listen not only with my ears but my heart has been soul expansive, and my relationships are being affected positively.

21 Day Cacao Challenge – A New Vision (Day 17)

https://www.ispeech.org

Today we were invited to create a vision board and start focusing our attention on what we want to manifest after the 21-day challenge.

The idea is to keep what we want to manifest clear and simple. The intention is not to just focus on tangible, physical things, but our internal wealth as well.

What we focus on expands, so setting an intention activates receptivity.

So what is a vision board anyway and why make one…

A vision board is a creative process, using visual imagery, that clearly defines our intentions for what we want to create in our life, so we can grow and transform.

Visualisation is one of the most powerful mind exercises we can do, because we are emitting a powerful frequency out into the universe.

By creating a sacred space that displays what we want to manifest, not only does it bring this to life visually, but we are giving a clear message to the universe.

There are timelines on a vision board, so we do need to be patient and trust.  When we are vibrating in alignment with our intentions… our manifesting abilities are on hyperdrive!

The idea is to create a ritual and spend some quiet time tuning into cacao and listening to our intuition and getting clear on what we want to create.

Then get creative and allow the spirit of Cacao to lead the way, giving space for random desires that pop up.  Then all we need to do is find an image that resonates with the idea and paste it to our vision boards.

Hold the Vision Trust the Process!

What is needed to create a vision board…

  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Catalogues
  • Postcards

You are looking for words, images, or colours that resonate with you.

  • Cardboard (A3 or 11x17, but really the bigger the better!)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

If you fancy getting very creative, here are some other ideas:

  • Stickers
  • Wrapping Paper
  • Fabric
  • Markers, crayons, pastels
  • fabric or ribbons
  • maybe stickers, gems, or sequins!

The idea is not to create a vision board and put it under the bed.  No, it’s what you want to create, so it deserves a special place, where you can see it on a daily basis.  Place it where it is visible, in your office, studio or even next to your bed.  How about making it your screen saver!

#incacaowetrust

Daily Intention:

To have fun!

What am I Grateful for today?

Lunch times!  I was able to spend time making my vision board!

One thing today that made me feel ‘I Love my life’:

Today, it feels like everything I have been working towards is coming together.

How did I follow my intuition today (with what results?)

I am learning to listen to what my body when it comes to food, which is helping with energy and clarity of mind.

What Physical Changes are taking place?

Each day I feel more expansive, and my stamina is returning.

Daily check in questions:

What difference did this Challenge Make to my day?

Life feels so much easier, when we allow ourselves to flow and not get caught up when things don’t go our way – this too shall pass.

How is this challenge helping me achieve my goals?

I keep doing the work, even though I don’t necessarily see the immediate results, I don’t give up, know that my vibrations are rippling out into the universe and my hard work will pay off.

How is this challenge impacting my relationships with nature, myself, and other relationships?

I feel myself daily slowing down and often taking my time to respond, ensure that my response is from my heart.

The Importance of Ritual Self Care

iSpeech

We are still living in uncertain times, whilst we prepare for 'freedom' here in the UK with the lifting of restrictions.  The pandemic situation still rages on.

We can easily get sucked into the drama of it all, which was my recent experience… I could sense my stress levels rising and the more that I allowed it to affect me, the more I started to feel scattered, anxious, and distracted.

Too many conflicting opinions and information, is enough to fry the brain and raise the stress levels.

Worrying saps energy and leaves no room for us to do the things we love, and I reminded myself that the only thing I can control… is how I react to things outside of my circle of influence.

So first up, I put the phone down and checked out of socials and the news!  As a society, we are so addicted to our phones, and we often find ourselves wasting precious time scrolling through various social media Apps and feeling triggered by what we see….. ultimately leading to stress.

Then it was time to make sacred space and reconnect with myself, to get out of my head and back into my heart.  It felt so good to feel grounded and centred again.

As a semblance of normality (whatever that it is) continues to filter in… and with the latest news of a potential for face coverings to become voluntary, it may lead to some of us feeling vulnerable and that the level of safety we have felt wearing them, has been stripped away.

Whatever the different stresses are that arise that for us, it is important that we do things that help us to take care of our mental, physical, and spiritual health.   A daily ritual can help us to stay grounded and connected to ourselves, whilst negotiating the challenging times ahead (or any personal challenges we may face).

A ritual forms part of self-care, which we often overlook when the pressure is on and in Western culture, we are so action orientated, that we tend to think that creating sacred space for ourselves is a waste of time or even selfish.

In order to navigate our normal day to day stresses and the current world drama, we need find some stillness and check in with how we are really feeling.

When we make space to sit in ritual to be fully present with ourselves and to honour ourselves, we become more productive and grounded, allowing us to then lead with the heart.

Integrating a ritual into our schedule on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis gives us the opportunity to focus on ourselves and create space for any inner work we need to do.

Self-care is a loving act and is the practice of consciously doing things that preserve or improve our mental or physical health.

"A daily ritual is a way of saying I’m voting for myself and I’m taking care of myself"

Mariel Hemingway

Ideas for daily self-care rituals:

A Teatime pause:  put the kettle on, make your favourite cup of tea and enjoy.

Breathe:  Lie on your yoga matt and take a few moments and bring your awareness to your breath as it moves in and out your body

Turn off the computer and go play outside:  Mother nature is the sweetest way to reconnect with yourself and get grounded.

Journalling:  Freewriting your thoughts is a beneficial way to get stuff out of your head and you may even identify possible solutions to anything bothering you.

Meditation:  Focusing on internal stillness and presence can calm your mind and relieve stress

Spend time with animals:  Having a furry friend can help you relax and bring joy to your day.

Decide how you want to feel today.

Self-care encourages us to maintain a healthy relationship with ourselves so that we can transmit the good feelings to others.

You cannot give to others what you don't have yourself.

My Favourite daily Self-Care Ritual

I love to get up for an early morning walk before I even consider starting my day.  The hush of the early morning, gives me space to feel a sense of oneness with all and I take this time to reflect on the miracle of life. On my return I put on some incense and maybe some soft music.  I have been recently making a cup of Cacao and spending time with this bitter drink, consciously connecting to her loving presence.  I then take a few minutes to journal my desired intention for the day ahead and anything else I would like to get out of my head and onto paper.  Sometimes I pull an oracle card for guidance and inspiration.

Rituals are ways to celebrate life and infuse our days with meaning.

Take care and do let me know what your favourite self-care ritual practice is?

21 Day Cacao Challenge – Communicating with Plants (Day 16)

https://www.ispeech.org/text.to.speech

The last two weeks I have been deepening my relationship with the Spirit of Cacao and she has supported me through my personal inner alchemy of transforming aspects of myself into truth and love.

How to communicate with Plants…

Plant Spirits carry codes and healing properties.  This week’s practice is to tune into our surroundings, to the tree outside your house to going outside in nature and practicing deep listening.  We can only hear what nature has to say when we have silenced our mind.  This week the invitation is to use Cacao to find our inner silence so we can tune in and decipher Mother Earths messages.

Shaman Durek in his book Spirit Hacking, gives some great hints and tips on how to log into nature.  He believes that Nature is a powerful teacher and a powerful ally.  Most people have no idea how much wisdom or knowledge, power and healing nature has to share with us because most people are so busy logging into their smart phones and social media feeds.

Logging into nature activates our connection with the nature spirits and opens up the communication channel.

Today’s ritual is to communicate with plants… after drinking our cacao, I headed out for a walk and found a tree that is vibrant and colourful, one that stood out for me, this is how plants call to you, by glowing at you.

We were invited to approach the plant with kindness and sit next to it, to observe the plant, it’s smell and patterns.  To silence the mind and tune into the plant and to become aware of what we are experiencing and if there are any messages from the plant. And to write our experience down in our journal.

My experiences:

One of the things I have noticed during this challenge, is that my plants are flourishing, and the animals and birds are more active in my garden.  The Squirrels have been intent on trying to communicate with me too… coming right up to the window and sometimes licking the windows!  Epic little creatures!

The more we tune into nature, the more the birds and animals will see us as nature.

We are part of the Earth, and it is part of us.

Native American Quote

#incacaowetrust

Daily Intention:

To connect with nature and hear their messages.

What am I Grateful for today?

The sweet taste of an apple.

One thing today that made me feel ‘I Love my life’:

The joy of being able to watch a baby squirrel attempt to climb a pole, where I have hung fat balls for the wild birds.  He didn’t stop trying and each time he got a bit closer to the delicious cargo… never give up was the message I took from this little guy today.

How did I follow my intuition today (with what results?)

Today I felt like drawn to doing a Womb Clearing Ceremony, by Lisa Bardell.  Afterwards I felt uplifted and less cranky!

What Physical Changes are taking place?

Each day I have more resilience and mental clarity.

Daily check in questions:

What difference did this Challenge Make to my day?

I feel more resilient and more in tune with myself.

How is this challenge helping me achieve my goals?

I am becoming clearer on where I waste time and becoming clearer on where to put the effort in.

How is this challenge impacting my relationships with nature, myself, and other relationships?

Listening, I am listening to myself more and responding to my own personal needs.

21 Day Cacao Challenge – Welcome to Week 3 (Day 15)

Text to Speech

Over the last two weeks I have really been enjoying connecting with Cacao and learning more about her history, which has deepened my connection to this Master Plant Medicine.  The Journey has given me so much more self-awareness, not only physically, but mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.  Cacao is definitely not woowoo, as they say the proof is in the pudding, in this case the proof is in drinking the Cacao.

In the final week, we will be working more shamanically with this Plant Medicine and we will do this by focussing our attention outwarded and taking what have learnt in the last two weeks and putting it into practical action.

Cacao holds a lot of nutrients as we have already learnt in my previous blogs, but they also hold a lot of codes and keys to who we really are.

What is Plant Medicine Shamanism…

In our current way of living, we are disconnected from nature and the healing energy she provides.  Disease and disfunction has energetic origins and traditional healers believe thatthe beginnings of disease originate from an imbalance or disharmony in our emotional and spiritual bodies, which can be addressed by realigning ourselves with nature.   When we begin to understand our relationship with nature and how we operate within it, we can begin to heal.

Plant spirit shamanism brings us into balance and harmony, bringing awareness to the unity of all of life and of treating plants with love and respect.

Research shows plants are intelligence, and can see, hear, smell, and respond. If we treat plants with love, they flourish and grow.

Shamans from many traditions believe that plants can speak to us, they call to us, if we listen.

As my Cacao Teacher says, Plants and the Divine speak in paradoxes… and shit can get weird, so we need to get out of our own way, to hear what they have to say.

We can learn a lot through reclaiming the fact that we are nature.

Plants are inviting us to be in a dance with them so that we can sense the healing power of the Divine in them.  It’s simply up to us to heed their call.

I like what Rebekah says in her email:  When we transform from separation consciousness to unity consciousness, we automatically reconnect to nature, and live more symbiotically with the natural world. We also start making the right choices that will leave our planet healthy for future generations, which is our duty, as their ancestors. It is going to take a shift in consciousness, and a value system reset, to bring humanity and the planet back into balance.

For me, as a Shaman in training, Shamanism is a nature-based path, it’s about remembering our connection to nature and remembering that we are all one.  Shamans are facilitators of change, leading to living more harmoniously and helping birth the next step in raising humanities vibration.

Cacao is making herself known, in order to help us with a global shift.  She has much magic to share with us, if we approach her with humility and an empty cup, she will fill that cup to overflowing if we choose to imbibe her magic.

Rebekah shares in her email five of her Tenets of Plant Medicine Shamanism.  The one that really hit home for me and something we often lose sight of, is that we are the ancestors of the future generations (read that again!), and it is our duty to keep our planet healthy and thriving… however, I felt that there was more to the tenet, it goes deeper into healing our own personal wounds so that we do not hand down the wounds of the past to our future generations, we owe to our children’s children to pass down a more healed baton, than the one we received.

Daily Ritual for the final week, is to tune into Cacao for guidance when suddenly feeling triggered or stressed.  Most of don’t reach out for help as we are so self-sufficient, but we can simply connect in with our loving friend, Cacao for guidance.

The suggestion this week is that if I receive a strong message, or someone pops in my mind, contact them.  The idea here is to action on what your intuition or gut is telling me.  When we act on our intuition it, it’s like a muscle, it gets stronger.

And finally, to commit to the final stretch of this 21-day challenge.

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.

Chief Seattle

#incacaowetrust

Daily Intention:

Today, the energy felt a bit heavy, so my intention was to find lightness and joy in my day.

What am I Grateful for today?

Video calls with my favourite Cousin and Spiritual Sister.

One thing today that made me feel ‘I Love my life’:

Again today, the amazing sound of heavy rain falling!

How did I follow my intuition today (with what results?)

By listening to the no and following through.

What Physical Changes are taking place?

My skin is glowing, and I feel more and more energised each day.  I have also noticed I am eating less junk food (not that I ate much before) and if I think of eating a bag of crisps my body gives me an immediate no.

Daily check in questions:

What difference did this Challenge Make to my day?

The challenge reminded me that we ebb and flow and that sometimes we just need to allow an emotion to wash over us and then let it go.

How is this challenge helping me achieve my goals?

The more I slow myself down, the more I seem to achieve, with a clearer mind.

How is this challenge impacting my relationships with nature, myself, and other relationships?

My relationship with myself is deepening and I am learning to say no to what does not serve me or does not vibe with me.

21 Day Cacao Challenge – Completion of Week 2 (Day 14)

Text to Speech Voices

Over the last two weeks, I can personally attest to the profound shifts that Cacao has had on me during this journey, from lovingly preparing a cup of cacao, to drinking it as part of my daily ritual practice….  Cacao has opened my heart and kept me centred as let go of the past, heal old wounds and step into reconnecting with my creativity and my soul path.

Our inner world is constantly bringing us messages, for growth, in the form of coincidences, or recurring themes.  By giving ourselves space to engage with life as it is, we can start to follow the breadcrumbs that life offers us.

As mentioned in yesterday’s blog, I am truly grateful for the resurgence of this powerful plant medicine that has been revered for centuries. The potentency of this healing and life sustaining elixr has the power to move mountains within us.

Cacao opens us up to be the magical beings that we are!

Rebekah mentions in her email that it at this point that we may get less involved int the challenge as we have already reached a more peaceful and focussed state; however, this is an important week to alchemise our stress and anxiety into a deeper peace and harmony.  This week is about going deeper and putting into practice what we have already learnt about Cacao.

Completion of Week 2 Ritual…was to fully bring our focus into our Heart Chakra after drinking our Cacao and being honest with ourselves on how our heart really feels and honour what we are feeling.

We were then guided to imagine a beautiful pink light to fill up our heart space with love and gratitude for our journey and to imagine this light increasing in strength until it overflows and starts to encompass our bodies.  And to just let this loving energy vibrate around us until we were glowing pink from within.  And finally, to send out love and gratitude for our blessings.

What a truly beautiful practice!

When everything seems too far away from you, don’t despair, return to yourself, return to the voice of your body.  Trust that much.

#incacaowetrust

Daily Intention:

I read an interesting post on what shadow aspects do the men / women we are manifesting have.  No-one is perfect and whilst we can manifest our ideal person, we need to consider that they come with their own shadowy aspects.

My intention for today was to be curious about my own shadow and open to accepting we all have shadows and to approach each interaction today with love.

What am I Grateful for today?

I am grateful for this moment.  This moment of silence and introspection.

One thing today that made me feel ‘I Love my life’:

Being able to hear the sound to heavy rainfall.  It is such a soul soothing sound.

How did I follow my intuition today (with what results?)

Today, instead of trusting to remember a process I needed to complete, I got out of my head, slowed down, and let my intuition guide my steps.

What Physical Changes are taking place?

After having shingles earlier this year and then being diagnosed with adrenal fatigue.  Today is the first time in a very long time, my passion for lifting weights has been reignited.  My body is craving physical strength.

Daily check in questions:

What difference did this Challenge Make to my day?

This challenge is helped slow me down and trust myself.  I gave my first Reiki Attunement today and I got out of my head and trusted that I knew what was needed to facilitate the process.

How is this challenge helping me achieve my goals?

The challenge is grounding me and slowing me down, which is reconnecting me to my inner core and re-igniting my passion and confidence for what I do.,

How is this challenge impacting my relationships with nature, myself, and other relationships?

As I continue to slow down and reconnect with myself, I feel more connected and in tune with those around me.

Summertime is for healing…

iSpeech.org

Hello Dear Ones

July has arrived with stormy weather here in Scotland. June felt a bit heavy with retrogrades and eclipses, so the rainy weather feels refreshing and rejuvenating.

July supports the energy of victory and expanding our personal horizons, think Julius Caesar and his triumphant statement Veni Vidi Vici!

I was reading the July Forecast from the School of Shamanism and Lena says that the main theme for July is “Two Steps Forward, One Step Back”. A Chameleon immediately came to mind and their message is ‘Watch and Wait’, the highway of life has more than just green lights.

So, whilst the energy of the month is vibrant, and we are amped to get going, we may feel like we are being reigned in. Just remember, this is exactly where we need to be right now because with every push forward, there is a need to look back and this may be necessary, for emotional clearing or a completion of a cycle… whatever the reason for looking back, remember this is necessary to ensure that our move forward is truly aligned with what we want.
Whilst out and about celebrating the radiant warmth of summer…. continue working on your goals, your personal growth and you will find yourself a victor!

Warm Summer love!

PS: We are running a Tarot / Oracle Reading Giveaway on Instagram, don’t forget to enter! You stand a chance of winning one of Fionn’s Shamanic Card Readings. The competition closes on Monday, 13 July 2021.

<3

You have been following Fionn’s blog about her journey with Mama Cacao during June. I was on a journey with her as well, but a very different one. Those of you that have sat in ceremony with us will know that I am not a great fan of the taste. I like what it stands for, I like the experience I get from it, but I dislike the taste. It is hard work drinking it. But I tried it, the first week it went well and I thought I can do this. And then life happened and I only occasionally took it. This experience does not mean that the last month has not been transformational, because it has. For a variety of reasons.

We finished the Goddess workshop a little while ago, but during the last month, we did some constellation work using the four archetypes we worked with. It was a powerful experience. There were some surprises for me, but deep down I knew how these four archetypes were out of alignment, who was feeling repressed, who was dominant and who had barged in to try and keep things calm. I had a coaching session at work this week and we talked about this work in relation to my work. I have a lot to work on. So now I am trying to let the mother rest and allowing the wild woman and the maiden a little playtime. The crone is there, but just keeping an eye on proceedings. That is easier said than done. This morning during a meditation I was reminded to look at my heart box and remember what was important to me. Have a look at my witchy tip below for more details on a heart box.
Anyway, I have been expecting change for a long time now and I think it has started.

And my final word: those that have signed up for the magical life workshop are in for a treat. Not only do we have an exciting 5 weeks lined up, but I love the witches starter kit I have put together.

Check out the unboxing of the Magical Life Workshop box here!

Have a lovely July.

With lots of love

June felt epically long! I loved the time expansion, it felt like the world slowed down, allowing for much-needed downtime! As I mentioned last month, I took the month off to recalibrate my inner world and follow my intuition and aim my arrow in the direction of my heart’s desires!

I kicked off June by stepping further onto my path as a Reiki Teacher, which has thus far brought some fascinating ideas on how to weave my passion for archetypes and cacao into my practice.

The day dawned gorgeous and sunny, and I was excited to take my next steps on this path. Throughout the afternoon there were lots of messages from spirit and my guides, affirming I am on track.

First up was a beautiful reflexology session infused with Reiki. It was during reflexology I was guided into a mediation, and I found myself on a yellow brick road… Yup, much like the yellow brick road Dorothy was on in The Wizard of OZ, except I didn’t have red Dorothy shoes, my feet were bare! Also, I didn’t have the Tin Man, Lion or Scare Crow… I had my heart and my Animal Guides… and it felt like I was heading off on an adventure of the heart.

Afterwards, we headed into the garden to embark on Reiki Teacher training, and we discussed my vision for teaching and for my practice.  After receiving my attunement another affirmation that I am on an adventure of the heart, came through.

I am super excited about how this is all unfolding!

Simultaneously, I felt called to attune myself more deeply to the Master Plant Medicine Cacao as part of a 21-day challenge. Each day I created a sacred pause to sit in ritual to be fully present with myself and deepen my relationship with Cacao. Cacao helps us to listen and to feel, she encourages us to reflect on our life and where we can open our heart to our calling.

I have loved connecting with her over the last month and diving deep into her history, the challenge has grounded me, slowed me down and brought me back to my heart centre.

If you haven’t read about my journey thus far… check out our blog.

I am thinking about running a 21-day Cacao Challenge later this year, please do let me know if you are interested, it has truly been an expansive journey and I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Last month we closed off our Goddess Workshops with constellation work, recalibrating the Maiden, the Mother, the Wild Woman and Crone within us… It was the perfect way to end off our workshops, giving those who attended amazing insight on which archetypes need more nurturing from us. We have opened registration for the Goddess Archetype Workshops… do let us know if you would like to join!

Sending you all so much love and happy summer vibes 💗

The Owls Witchy Tip

Make a little keepsake box out of any sturdy box. Mine is a beautiful jewellery box that my Goddess necklace came in. In it, I have little things that make my heart sing. Some of it is a little something I have picked up because it is pretty and some of it represents the things I love most in life.

Try making one for yourself, open it when you are down or you doubt yourself and you will be reminded of what makes you happy and those things that should play a bigger part in your life.

The Wolfs Wild Tip

Focus on your Heart.

We are so busy hustling and trying to keep our lives afloat, we waste so much energy getting stuck in our heads trying to figure life out.

Instead, drop into your heart and allow yourself to fully feel what's going on inside of you.

Talk to it, listen to it, thank it, ask it to share its wisdom with you.

Summertime is a good time to heal and let go of any emotional wounds from the past, giving us the space to open up our hearts to what's present for you now and what it's guiding you towards in the future.

21 Day Cacao Challenge – The Importance of Ceremonial Cacao (Day 13)

iSpeech.org

Why ceremonial grade Cacao…?

As mentioned in my previous blog, the industrial revolution would change how cacao would be processed and eventually go mainstream.

It was in 1828, that the Dutch Chemist and chocolate maker, Coenraad Van Houten, discovered a way to treat Cacao beans with alkaline salts to remove the bitter taste and make Cacao easier to dissolve in water, thus creating the ‘Dutch Process’.  Later, Coenraad’s father then developed an inexpensive way to separate cocoa butter from the cacao liquor, producing a cake that could then be pulverised into fine cocoa powder.

Today, Cocoa powder is processed at high heat, destroying much of the nutritional value of the cacao bean.   It is then milled into a powder and often alkalized during processing (Dutch-process) to reduce acidity, resulting in a less bitter and more palatable taste.

The way cocoa powder is manufactured, means it has lost most of its medicinal properties, by the time it reaches you in the form of a bar of chocolate or a cup of hot chocolate.  Over time this powerful superfruit and master plant teacher has been confined to the confectionary section of the supermarket having been commercialised and commoditised.

Ceremonial-Grade Cacao…

Ceremonial-grade cacao is made by fermenting and lightly toasting organic cacao beans.  The fermentation process is necessary for cultivating the flavour profile and activating certain natural compounds.  The beans are then cracked and peeled, (usually by hand), then stone ground by traditional methods to create a paste which is then set into a block.  Nothing is added, nothing is removed. The bean’s fat remains intact, helping to balance its stimulating properties and facilitate absorption over a longer period of time.

From tree to cup, ceremonial cacao is cultivated with intention, it is energetically pure and in alignment with the spirit of Cacao.

The hidden ingredient in your chocolate…

It is sad to say that the more cacao has become commoditised, exploitation has increased and the hidden ingredient in your chocolate is child slavery.

Big chocolate manufacturers signed up to a pledge to stop the extreme levels of child slave labour that was being seen in the chocolate industry.   In reality, they have broken their pledge and Mars, Nestlé and Hershey now face a child slavery lawsuit in the US.

Conscious Chocolate…

There has been a growing trend over the years for more ethical sourcing of cacao beans and creating sustainable relationships with suppliers.

I was having a look for conscious artisan chocolatiers and came across Conscious Chocolate and I loved that their business model ensures the welfare and health of their workforce.  The founder has strong values concerning the environment and health benefits of less processed diet.  Check them out… I know that's where I will be purchasing my decandent delights from!

Cacao is an essential aspect of my life and has played a large role in facilitating deep change over the last two years.  Her heart opening and grounding medicine is what we need to reconnect with ourselves and find balance in these challenging times!

How did I follow my intuition today (with what results?)

I decided to take a break from the slog of sitting at my laptop and head outside to lie in the sun.

What Physical Changes are taking place?

I have noticed my memory is much sharper and I feel more energised.

21 Day Cacao Challenge – The History of Cacao (Day 12)

iSpeech.org

Chocolate has a 4000-year history and has come a long way to reach you… intrigued?

Cacao is legendary.  It has a rich history in Mesoamerican native cultures and was seen as a gift from the gods.   Cacao was honoured as a sacred and powerful food and medicine for thousands of years.  It was used in ceremonies, rituals and offerings.  It was also used as a sacred drink to connect with the divine.

But where did it all start…?

The Olmec were one of the earliest civilisations (c1200-400BCE) to turn cacao into chocolate and consume this fermented bitter drink as part of ritual practice or as a medicine.

Later the Mayans praised Cacao as the drink of the gods.  Mayan ‘xocolatl’ (bitter water) was highly revered.  ‘Xocolatl’ was made from roasted and ground Cacao beans, then they added water and chillies.

During the 15th century the Aztecs used dried Cacao beans as a currency.  They also believed that cacao was a gift from the god Quetzalcoatl and drank Cacao as an aphrodisiac and even when preparing for war.  During this time, Cacao was only drunk by high-ranking officials, priests and great warriors.

In 1492, Columbus was one of the first Europeans to learn of Cacao and sent beans back to Spain, however, no-one paid much attention to the beans as they were thought to be only a currency… little did they know, they could also eat it!

It was later in 1519, when the Spanish explorer / Pirate, Hernán Cortés, was introduced to cacao, whilst visiting the formidable Aztec Emperor Moctezuma.  Moctezuma had such an insatiable love for Cacao he drank a gold pitcher of it daily, for energy and vitality.  It was during this meeting that Cortez discovered that Cacao was considered a potent stimulant and in some cases an aphrodisiac.

Chocolate reaches Spain…

It is said that it was the explorer Hernán Cortés who brought chocolate to his homeland, Spain, in 1528.

Cacao was still served as drink; however, they started preparing their Spanish Cocao with cane sugar, cinnamon and vanilla to make it more drinkable.  This chocolate elixir was heavily taxed, so only the wealthy can afford it.

Monks were appointed as the processors of the cacao beans, in order to keep chocolate a secret.  They were successful for almost a century.  The Monks even used cacao as part of their religious practices.

Chocolate-mania develops in Italy…

The more widespread appreciation of this chocolatey drink is credited to an Italian traveller named Antonio Carletti, who in 1606 fell in love with the divine elixir.  He then took it back to Italy, where Chocolate-mania develops, and it is from Italy that chocolate spreads to Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Europe is seduced by Chocolate…

The Spanish had managed to keep this divine elixir secret for almost a century before the treat reached neighbouring France, and then the rest of Europe.

When King Louis XIII of France married Anne of Austria, daughter of Spanish King Phillip III, in 1615, she brought decadent samples of chocolate to the royal courts of France to celebrate their union.

London’s hot chocolate craze began, in 1657, with the opening of one the first chocolate house.  Chocolate was still considered an exclusive beverage… following on from the Aztec Elitism of the 15th century.

In the meantime, Chocolate incites controversy…

By 1624, Cacao had become so popular that the Catholic Church had adopted it as beverage for fasting clergy, however, they did a 180, proclaiming cacao as an inflamer of passions and declaring it sinful to drink Cacao.

After years of debate the Church finally agreed that if Cacao was consumed medicinally, it could be used as a substitute during fasting.

Cacao heads to America ….

Cacao arrived in the USA from Spain in 1641.  It is believed that one of the first American chocolate houses opened in 1682, in Boston.

By 1773, Cacao beans had become one of Americas major trade imports and chocolate was enjoyed by people of all classes.

During the Revolutionary War (1775 – 1783), soldiers were sometimes given chocolate as payment instead of money.  (Later in WWII, chocolate was provided as military rations)

The Chocolate Revolution…

Chocolate remained hugely popular among European aristocracy and was consumed for its health benefits, as well as its decadence.  However, chocolate was still produced by hand, which was a slow and laborious process.

The industrial revolution would change all that… with the innovative invention of the chocolate press.

In 1828, the Dutch Chemist and chocolate maker, Coenraad Van Houten, discovered a way to treat Cacao beans with alkaline salts to remove the bitter taste and making Cacao easier to dissolve in water, thus creating the ‘Dutch Process’.  Later, Coenraad’s father then developed an inexpensive way to separate cocoa butter from the cacao liquor, producing a cake that could then be pulverised into fine cocoa powder.

This invention making it possible for cacao powder to be mixed with liquids and poured into moulds, where it would solidify into an edible bar of chocolate.

And just like that… the modern era of chocolate (as we know it today) was born.

Others went onto build on the success of Van Houtens invention, after his patent expired in 1838.

Chocolate goes Mainstream…

By the 19th century, European chocolatiers were finding ways to mass produce chocolate.  It is said that English Chocolatier J.S. Fry & Sons produced the first chocolate bar in 1847.  It was later that century when Daniel Peter introduced to the world, its first taste of milk chocolate, thanks to Henry Nestle’s condensed milk.  Rodolphe Lindt then invented the conch machine, turning cacao liquor into a silky-smooth velvety texture that has become synonymous with Lindt today.

And this is the story of how milk chocolate was brought to the masses and how Swiss Chocolate became famous.

It did not take long for cacao to become one of the most desired commodities in the world, with the real medicinal and nutritional value having been lost.

In Britain, we eat an estimated 660,900 tonnes of chocolate a year, which is an average of 11kg per person per year…. Equating to about 3 bars a week!

The revival of Cacao as Medicine…

After this powerful medicine has been hidden in plain sight as a confectionery, for over a hundred and fifty years, we are coming full circle as we start see the resurgence of Cacao in its original capacity of a Master Plant Medicine and a nourishing food source.

As we start to explore new ways of feeling happier and harmonious in our day to day lives, Cacao, in her form as a Master Plant Teacher, teaches us opens our hearts, calms our stress and anxiety.  When we drink Cacao as part of ceremony with others, creates a sense of oneness. She leaves us feeling loved up and awakens our consciousness.

I think it is truly beautiful that after all these years, we are beginning to seek the wisdom of Cacao and hold council for the wisdom of this powerful plant medicine, not only individually but as part of community gatherings.

What’s not to love… about feeling loved up?

#incacaowetrust

Today’s Ritual was to consume our Cacao a feel gratitude in our hearts for the Cacao spirit and the journey it she has had to get to us in this moment.  We are drinking the food of gods, a powerful plant medicine that has been revered and celebrated for thousands of years!
