Life is fast and it seems to be speeding up as the years go by. When we do life on autopilot, we lose out on connecting with the present moment. We are often so busy working, hustling and trying to keep our lives together, that we create habits and these habits on not necessarily healthy habits. A habit is something we don’t think about, it is formed unconsciously, and they just seem to happen as we go about are daily activities.
The need for ritual is innate and it is an opportunity to demonstrate reverence for being in the moment. Rituals are behaviours that provide us with an anchor that connects us more fully with life and ourselves, they add meaning and purpose to our day. It’s an act of self-love.
When the meaning behind the task transcends the purpose of our action, this is when we can direct our energy to manifest our deepest desires. When we turn the mundane into sacred action, we then feel like we are directly participating in co-creating with life.

My Morning Ritual: I start my morning ritual, going for a short walk around 6am, I walk with the intention to be delighted. To listen to the birds twittering and going about their early morning business. On my return I light some incense. Depending on how I am feeling, I will either pop on some music on or I will sing while am chopping my cacao, infusing the Cacao with my happy intentions or whatever I vibes I would like to infuse into the day ahead. I have a special Cacao cup and it is featured in my images. For me it is important to show deep reverence for this plant medicine and serve it in a pretty cup. Before I drink, I offer up a prayer of gratitude.
Today, whilst drinking my Cacao today, I contemplated the following questions and wrote my response in my journal:
How can I create more harmony in my life? I can create more harmony in my life by spending more time in nature.
How can I create more harmony in my relationships? I can create more harmony in my relationships, by practicing deep listening.
How can I create more balance in my life? I can create more balance, by getting up from my desk and going for a walk when I get stressed, instead of pushing through.
How can I create more joy in my life? I can bring more joy to my life, by being present, by stopping and finding something magical to appreciate in the moment.
How can I create more abundance in my life? I can bring more abundance in my life by focusing on gratitude.
How can I release old experiences that are keeping me stuck in the past? I can release old stories by remembering that it is within my gift to reframe and change the story.
How can I release the fear and follow my heart? By leaning into the uncomfortableness of not knowing and releasing control and trusting the process. When we fully tune into the truth that lies in our heart, it will not lead you astray.

I was out for a walk with a friend and by practicing deep listening, I was truly able to connect with her on a some of the fascinating topics we chatted about. I felt like we both felt deeply heard and seen.
